![]() To fix I put in my windows install disk, opened up the command prompt (after first trying auto repair) and:ġ) Used FDISK to set the windows partition active (the one marked system reserved)Ĥ) Ran bootrec /rebuildbcd -> failed to find OSĥ) Rebooted to the install disk, selected auto-repair and, upon reboot removed the DVD I elected to applyĪfter the auto reboot, it could not find the boot loader. ![]() Immediately a slew of updates for Office 2010 appeared plus SP1 for VS 2010. I then installed Office 2010 and Visual Studio 2010 which also ran fine.Ī day or so later - after confirming and working in Office/VS 2010 - I switched Windows Update to show me updates for non-Windows applications. ![]() Setup went fine and I applied all the latest and greatest OS updates from Window Update. I recently setup a new machine with windows 8.
